Cullen Foundation seeks to improve the quality of life for residents of Erie County.



Cullen Foundation serves the residents of Erie County by providing funding and support that significantly enhances the education of students in grades pre-K through 12 and advances theatre and the performing arts.




Cullen Foundation is an independent, private foundation dedicated to enhancing education for students in grades pre-K through 12 and advancing performing arts for Erie County, New York. The Foundation was created by the late John S. “Jack” Cullen. His estate provided the funding for the foundation.

Death of Jack Cullen whose estate will provide the funding for the Foundation

Sale of Jack Cullen’s company, Multisorb; proceeds of sale pass to Foundation

October 2014

Foundation staff hired; opens office in Buffalo, New York

Adoption of Strategic Plan

Foundation begins to accept applications through its biannual Responsive Grant Cycle

Engages Bellwether Education Partners to facilitate Education Investment Strategy
