Types of Support


Funding Range

Organizations may apply for 1, 2 or 3 years of funding, ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 per year (for a $300,000 total maximum). Receiving the maximum $100,000/year request amount is rare and occurs only when the Foundation deems unique strategic alignment between Cullen Foundation's mission and the program's outcomes. Multi-year grants are made only when the Foundation believes the multi-year nature of the request is essential to the project's success.

Cullen Foundation has established the following types of support:

Performing Arts

  • Program / project support
  • General operating support
  • Capital / physical infrastructure
  • Capacity Building

Performing arts grants will be limited to organizations where the primary focus/mission is community performances.

Cullen Foundation’s focus is on programs that have specific academic outcomes and an evaluation process that supports continuous improvement. Evidence-based programs will be given priority.

Field trip funds/programs, museum exhibits, recreational camps or recreation-based programs, internship programs, “arts in education” programs, professional development programs/services, education resource rooms/drop in centers, skills and job training programs, transportation requests and individual schools will not be supported.
