Funding support helps meet programming needs of many

educational and performing arts organizations in Erie County.


BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Cullen Foundation, an independent, private foundation dedicated to enhancing education for students in grades 5-12 and advancing performing arts in Erie County, announced its next responsive grant cycle will open on January 9, 2017, with letters of intent due January 27, 2017.


The Cullen Foundation provides funding opportunities to educational and performing arts organizations for up to three years ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 per year. Interested applicants are encouraged to attend a free informational meeting on January 5, 2017, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at The Buffalo History Museum to learn more about the grant program’s requirements, application process, and other key details. Interested organizations should register to attend online through the Foundation’s website.


“The Cullen Foundation believes in supporting the important work undertaken by strong education and performing arts organizations,” said Florine Luhr, president of the Cullen Foundation. “This biannual grant program enables us to invest in education organizations and performing arts groups that align with our mission and serve Erie County residents.”


Since 2015, the Cullen Foundation has conducted three responsive grant cycles, which in total have awarded over three million dollars to local education and performing arts nonprofit organizations.
